Kentek’s online laser safety micro courses are designed to provide focused and specific information on a narrow area of laser safety. This laser safety micro course will conduct a review of Laser Hazard Analysis concepts including Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE), Optical Density (OD), Nominal Ocular Hazard Distance (NOHD) and Nominal Hazard Zone (NHZ). Quantifying and evaluating laser hazards will be discussed along with calculation examples explained. -
This online Laser Safety Officer (LSO) course is intended for individuals in industrial, research, or educational institutions required to perform the duties of LSO as defined by ANSI Z136.1 “Safe Use of Lasers” standard. For those attendees looking for more in-depth knowledge on hazard analysis there is an additional module available. This module contains examples demonstrating laser hazard analysis using EASY-HAZ™ LSO software. This course meets all training requirements of OSHA and ANSI.
